Ever finish a seemingly big meal, and still feel like you could eat more?
It's that feeling that you know you have consumed enough calories but yet you could still eat a dessert, or nibble on what is left of the bread. Well it's time to bust this problem wide open!
Here's the deal, food in its unaltered, natural form, is what our bodies need to work properly. Now I am not a nutritionist but I have done my research and the skinny of it is, your body knows what to do with eggs, fruit, vegetables, fish, meat and nuts. It has a purpose in our body and they trigger certain responses in our brain, like "I am full" for instance. If you eat good whole foods, your body will tell you to stop eating. And it will tell you in a way that will stop you from reaching for another slice of bread...just in case!
But when you put processed food into your diet; and this is anything from boxed and canned goods to cheese and sausage (the kind that comes in a box or otherwise packaged) it screws with your brain signals and instead of saying "I am full" your brain is saying "Hey bring it on! I am good to go". Think of the LAYS slogan, Bet You Can't Eat Just One. - Yup, they know the secret, load it with empty calories that are fatty and salty and you won't be able to put the bag down!
The 21 Day Fix is a program that hit the streets this year and people have had great success with it but the one complaint i get is it's too much food! You want to know why, it's because they are eating whole foods that are filling them up and people are floored by this new feeling. What is going on, what is this feeling I am having - am I sick? NO, silly goose, you are just full and bravo for that! This is how we keep our waste lines down.
So I challenge you this. Tomorrow, sit down to a veggie omelet for breakfast (hold the cheese) and see how you feel between breakfast and lunch. Chances are, you won't need to eat!
I recently did this and even after 2 days the results are amazing. Here is a breakdown of my meals:
9:00 - 2 Eggs, 2 Strip of Bacon (be picky about your bacon, they can sneak bad stuff in there)
11:00 - Banana
1:00 - Salad (all veggies, no cheese) with Tuna
4:00 - Apple with Almonds
7:00 - Chicken with Veggies
There are a host of other really cool side effects like being more alert, waking up without hitting the snooze a dozen times, aches and pains start to go away, remember more/forget less.
I double dog dare you to try this for a few days and see how full you feel.
